During the preparation phase of the FRAMES project is was expected that there wasn’t much knowledge present about the vulnerability level of vital infrastructure in relation to floods. This expectation changed during the process, due to the fact that there is a lot more knowledge present than expected. The problem is however that there is no documentation present which links the knowledge of the two ‘worlds’ (vital infrastructure and flood scenario’s). Organizing a dialog (before the start of the project) with the involved parties can help creating an image of which knowledge is present on the different topics. Due to this dialog the different parties will be aware of what the level of knowledge on certain topics is within the participating organisations. A dialog can also offer an opportunity to look if certain aspects are taken into account within their organisations (e.g. between vital infrastructure and flood scenario’s).
